Ryan Spaude is running for re-election to the Wisconsin State Assembly's 89th District, the home of Green Bay. This is a key defensive seat that will shape Democrats’ path to a legislative majority under the state’s fairer maps.
Ryan Spaude flipped this purple district in 2024, proving that voters were ready for pragmatic leadership fighting for strong public schools and affordability. With Republicans still controlling the Assembly and Senate, defending AD-89 is essential to protecting Democrat gains and building momentum toward a governing majority in Madison.
Our month of FUNd-raisers for Ryan started with a wonderful wildflower walk for Wisconsin and a delicious cheese tasting! Thanks to our hosts, Jan and Mariya, and all who came.
We have three more events in our line-up. Support Ryan by attending these events. We have matches for all of them!

Join our Phitness Training and learn about phone banking before we start making calls for our candidates on May 9. We will teach you about phone banking software, how to collect phone banking data and give you the opportunity to practice conversations! Introverts welcome!
Did You Know? … It’s important we call Democratic voters because some don’t vote in their state legislative race. Why don't they??
Phonebankers provide voters with information from States Win HQ’s fact sheets about the candidate’s values and priorities, so they can make an informed choice. We make sure they’re aware what state legislators do: that they write bills on key issues like voting rights, healthcare, education, housing and gun violence that can either help or harm their communities.
Please let us know whether you'd prefer Zoom or in-person (Mountain View) training!
Wildflower Walk
A hearty group of hikers gathered for SWSB'S first Wildflower Walk at the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve in Morgan Hill. Jan G led the group on a brisk morning to see the beautiful bloom of wildflowers this time of year!
Golden Gate Bridge Walk
SWSB's walked across the Golden Gate in solidarity with States Win SF and CA-Peninsula. For the first time ever, we were allowed to carry our banner across the Bridge. Previously, the GGB police have always told us we could not.
One officer even stopped us wanting to know about States Win. He told us to carry on across the whole bridge!
This was our final event the State Bridges 2026 program. SWSB raised $35,443!
Go Team!
Cheese Tasting Fun
Guests competed to identify 6 mystery cheeses. The winner won a Wisconsin State kitchen towel. Trivia: a German couple started the first kindergarten in WI in 1856. Ryan also zoomed in from Wisconsin to update us on his race.
Sat, May 2, 2-4pm. News from the Front in-person discussion and Q&A with U.S. Rep. Sam Liccardo, in Palo Alto.
