Dear Mariya,
South Bay is thrilled to announce our next candidate of 2026: Representative Ryan Spaude, running in Wisconsin State Assembly District 89, which includes Green Bay! Defending this seat is critical to protect Democratic gains and build a path toward a governing majority.
If you already know the importance of defending seats in the Wisconsin Assembly this year, help us kick off this campaign with a donation of $26.26! Or, read on to learn more.
ABOUT RYAN
Representative Ryan Spaude is a lawyer, public school graduate, and fifth generation Wisconsinite who is running for reelection in the 89th Assembly District.
Ryan was raised in the Green Bay area by a welder and a dental hygienist. After graduating from law school, Ryan worked as a prosecutor, focused on prosecuting drunk drivers and keeping his community safe. Ryan was originally inspired to run in 2024 after the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that the assembly districts needed to be redrawn to end gerrymandering and create fair maps for Wisconsin.
WHY THIS RACE IS IMPORTANT
Because this year, we can flip the Wisconsin State Legislature and create a Democratic trifecta! Wisconsin Assembly District 89 is a key defensive seat that will shape Democrats’ path to a legislative majority under the state’s fairer maps.
Ryan Spaude flipped this Green Bay district in 2024, proving that voters are ready for pragmatic leadership focused on affordability and strong public schools.
